FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
East Coast Facilities, Inc. Mourns the Tragic Loss of Longtime Team Member Rigoberto “Rigo” Hernandez and Family to Gámez

Allentown, Pennsylvania — November 23, 2025
East Coast Facilities, Inc. announces with profound sorrow the tragic death of Rigoberto “Rigo” Hernandez, a longtime member of the ECF family and someone embraced as family by Gámez. He was killed on Friday evening, November 21, 2025, in Allentown, Pennsylvania.

Initial reports indicate that the driver of a delivery van first made contact with Rigo’s vehicle. According to early witness accounts and available video footage, when Rigo confronted the driver, the driver attempted to flee the area and, in doing so, struck Rigo, carried him a significant distance at a high rate of speed, and ultimately crushed him in what appears to be a deliberate hit-and-run incident.

The Allentown Police Department is actively investigating and urges anyone with information to contact the Criminal Investigations Division at 610-437-7721. Anonymous tips may also be submitted through Tip411.

Rigo was just 29 years old. He leaves behind his devoted wife of ten years, Meicy, and their three young children; ages 11, 7, and 3 who adored him. He is also survived by his loving parents and his brothers and sisters. The depth of this loss cannot be measured.

“Rigo was more than an employee — he was family, he was my little brother,” said Joshua S. Gámez, President & CEO of East Coast Facilities, Inc. “He was a humble man, a trustworthy member of our inner circle, and someone my sons and I loved dearly. Our hearts are crushed.”

Rigo immigrated to the United States to build a safer and brighter future for his family. A permanent legal resident who embodied the spirit of the American Dream, he was proudly working toward becoming a United States citizen. His commitment to providing for his family and contributing to his community was evident in everything he did.

Within ECF, Rigo worked closely with the Home Office Fleet & Logistics Department as a Field Supervisor and maintained a strong daily working relationship with Director of Fleet & Logistics, Josiah S. Gámez, who viewed Rigo not only as a colleague but as a brother.

“Rigo was part of our family in every meaningful way, he was killed while wearing his uniform, just trying to get home to his family after a long week of work,” said Josiah. “His absence leaves a hole that will never be filled.”

East Coast Facilities is working directly with Meicy and their extended family to support them through this devastating time, including assisting with funeral arrangements. A GoFundMe campaign has been established to provide immediate financial support to Rigo’s wife and children as they navigate the difficult days ahead. Funeral arrangements are being finalized and will be announced as soon as they are confirmed.

“We stand with Rigo’s family, united in grief, united in love, and united in our commitment to seek justice on his behalf; we expect swift and decisive action by the District Attorney” said CEO Joshua Gámez. “While nothing can bring him back, we will not rest until accountability is achieved.”
